Hemlock Shaft Stain – Detailed Application Guide
Application Instructions

Step 1 – Prepare the Shaft
Sand shafts smooth with 120–240 grit sandpaper. Wipe with white spirit or a clean cloth to remove dust, oil, and debris.
Step 2 – First Coat Application
Apply the first coat using a lint-free cloth or by dipping. If dipping, use a clean dip tube and ensure excess is collected to prevent runs.
Step 3 – Drying & Light Abrasion
Allow to dry for 30–60 minutes (touch dry). Lightly abrade using a fine scouring pad or 400+ grit paper. Wipe with a damp cloth.
Step 4 – Additional Coats
Apply 1–2 further coats, lightly abrading between each. For dip application, allow double the drying time between coats for best results.
Step 5 – Final Cure
After the final coat, allow arrows to cure fully for 16 hours in stable conditions (ideally 21°C, humidity below 60%) before use.
