Vortex – Barreled Shaft – Premium Target Arrow
The Hemlock Vortex is our premium-grade barreled target arrow, designed with precision and consistency in mind. While it shines in target archery, the Vortex is also well-suited to a variety of other shooting disciplines.
Crafted from select premium hemlock, the Vortex features a barreled profile for improved flight dynamics and recovery. The standard configuration is a 5/16” shaft tapered to 9/32”, though stiffer spine ratings may require a slightly larger diameter.
Each arrow is fitted with a brass bullet point (typically between 63gn and 70gn, depending on the spine and shooting setup), an AAE Plastinock, and your choice of 2" shield or 2" parabolic fletchings.
For increased stability and surface area, 2" shield fletchings are recommended
For longer distances (70m and beyond), 2" parabolic fletchings offer reduced drag
Also available as bare shafts for custom builds.

Style 3 (Vortex) Two-Tone Fletching & Cresting Band
Style 3 – Two-Tone Fletching & Cresting Band Finish
Style 3 offers a minimalist, performance-driven look with a custom colour-matched two-tone fletching and cresting band design. As standard, the colours are matched to your chosen fletching configuration:

The main colour of the band will reflect the two matching feathers

The cresting lines will correspond to the index fletching
For example, if you choose two yellow fletchings and one black, the band will be primarily yellow, with black accent crest lines.
The rest of the shaft is left bare to maintain a clean, traditional profile—unless you opt for the full stain upgrade (available for an additional fee), in any of the following colours:
black, white, yellow, orange, red, blue, purple, mahogany, or walnut.
As with our other styles, customisation is available on request. This includes changes to cresting colours and band combinations.
